LIFE AT THE LOCKE … Issue #2 2019-2020

September 8, 2019 Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students, We had a successful opening week at the Locke. Students and staff made it through locker assignments, bus numbers, new schedules, and the lunch line! It was great to see our students excited to be back and ready for an awesome year. I hope everyone is having a restful weekend as we prepare for our first full week of  5 DAYS OF LEARNING ! September 1, 2019 Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students, Are you ready for 180 DAYS OF LEARNING … In our efforts to improve communication with families, we started the Life at the Locke weekly newsletter of what is happening at our school. We will “publish” every Sunday or Monday of a long weekend. I hope you have all enjoyed the summer and are ready for the school year to begin. We have been busy this summer getting ready for new students in two grades and preparing for the transition to grades 5, 6, and 7. I want to thank our custodial staff for working through the hot days to clean our school and having it ready for students and staff. I would also like to thank our teachers for spending countless hours preparing their classrooms for students. June 16, 2019 Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students, Happy Father’s Day! Only  1 ½ DAYS OF LEARNING  remain.   FINAL THOUGHTS   I wish all of our 7 th  and 8 th  graders the best of luck as they move on to high school and new learning experiences. It has been a pleasure working with you. Remember to always work hard, make positive choices, and make sure you learn something new every day. Most importantly, follow your dreams! June 9, 2019 Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students, I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weekend. We have all returned from our trips over the last couple of weeks and we are ready to close out another school year. Of course, we will be saying goodbye to our 7 th  and 8 th  graders this year and we have several activities planned for the last few days.   The countdown continues with  7 DAYS OF LEARNING  remaining.
