SCHEDULE THIS WEEK

BOOK FAIR – All week, students will go with their ELA classes.

Monday, May 24 – B Day

Tuesday, May 25 – C Day-- COVID Pooled testing, MCAS make-ups

Wednesday, May 26 – D Day – Early Release, 11:40 Dismissal

Thursday, May 27 – A Day

Friday, May 28 – B Day

EARLY RELEASE

On Wednesday, May 26th we have an early release. Students will be dismissed at 11:40.

MCAS TESTING

Thank you to our students for their hard work during MCAS week. By all accounts, students gave tremendous effort and demonstrated their learning. Make-ups will be held on Tuesday this week for students that missed a session. Our counselors will contact families with a reminder.

MASK REMINDER

Just a friendly reminder to have your students change their masks daily when coming to school. Now that we're all back 5 days a week, it's more important than ever to keep up with good hygiene. If a student does not have a clean mask for the day, they may report to the Main Office in the morning to obtain a new one. Thank you!

POOLED COVID TESTING

We will resume testing on Tuesday, May 25th.  Please complete the attached form if you would like your child to participate. We are encouraging all students to participate. For more details, please see the district’s website.

TALENT SHOW

We are having a virtual talent show. Auditions/Rehearsals will be held on Monday, May 24th this week after school. There are sign-up sheets for students on the cafeteria doors. Parents will need to provide a ride after school. If you have any questions contact Ms. Berard – aberard@billericak12.com

DISMISSAL/BUS PROCEDURES

Dismissal -- If your child is being dismissed, please send in a note with the time and the person who is dismissing the student. You must enter the building to dismiss your child and show your license.

Bus Procedures - Due to COVID restrictions, students are only allowed to ride on their assigned bus.

LITERARY MAGAZINE – submissions needed

Ms. Cabral is looking for submissions to be entered in this year's literary magazine! Submissions can be any artwork or written work, as long as it's school appropriate. Examples of submissions received in the past include poetry, horror stories, original short stories, digital art, paintings, research essays, etc. There is no limit on how many items you can submit, so please submit as much as you'd like! Submissions can be emailed to Ms. Cabral at pcabral@billericak12.com. Submissions are due by May 15. Please reach out to Ms. Cabral with any questions.

BILLERICA SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMP

Summer Camp is back!!! Students in grades K-7 are invited to enjoy a wide variety of activities and some socialization with friends.  Camp runs from 6/23-7/28 and is from 8-12 at the Marshall.  Community Pass will be the only method to register.  If interested please register at the following link:

CHORUS – NEXT FALL

Yearbook Signing

Talia and her best friend both had favorite numbers. They were 7 and 10. So, they decided that they would either sign or write a message on every page of each other’s yearbook on every page that was a multiple of 7 or 10. The yearbook has 76 pages. On how many pages of Talia’s yearbook did her friend leave a message or signature?

LIBRARY INFORMATION –Books are still available!

Check out library books from the Locke library! The process for requesting library books online has become even simpler! Using Destiny Discover in your BPS Quick Links, you no longer need to log into the library catalog. BMHS ATHLETICS – Information for 7th grade students

Hello Families, 

We are excited to inform you that the summer strength and conditioning camp will return for the summer of 2021!!  The goal is to have the registration open this week.  Additionally, we intend to extend the program beginning June 21 through August 12, 2021.  PLEASE be sure your family has a Community Pass account.  Families Need a Verified account with “Community Pass”  Unsure about your Community Pass account? The program is designed with 2 age groupings. 

1. Class of 2025 & 2026 8th & 9th Grade

2. Class of 2022, 2023, and 2024 10th-12th Grade

For 8th & 9th graders, In addition to the Strength & Conditioning Program there will be free gym time to play basketball, floor-hockey, and other team games.

We are also excited about the opportunities that the NEW BMHS will provide us this summer and into the fall season! With full access to the new turf fields, track, and the fitness center we are in great position to pick up where we left off in 2019.  For planning purposes, below is some additional information about the summer program and the fall sports schedule.

Timeline:

June 21-August 12th: Summer Strength & Conditioning Camp

Cheerleading tryouts -To be determined-Keep your eye out for an email in the next week or so!

August 16th-Sports Specific Camps-Contact varsity coaches. Emails are below.  

August 20th: 1st day of Football practices

August 23rd: First day for all other teams.-This includes tryouts for all teams except Cheerleading.  

Parents: Please Note: once August 20th and 23rd arrives, the teams practice daily and on weekends; even on Labor Day weekend.   Athletes are expected to attend all practice sessions.
