I hope you are enjoying the weekend. Due to the number of staff members and students that cannot be physically in the building, we are moving to a full remote schedule this week. Please see all the details below. We still have 5 DAYS OF LEARNING this week! Let’s see what’s happening …

STUDENT GOOGLE MEET PROTOCOLS
With all students going to full-remote this week, we have updated our google meet requirements for students. Please see the link below:
Also, remember to turn in assignments on-time. It is an important skill to learn how to manage deadlines. Work with your teachers to develop these lifelong skills.
REMOTE WEEK SCHEDULE (Hybrid Only)
For the week of January 11th through 15th, the Locke Middle School will be fully remote. Please see the attached letter from Superintendent Piwowar. As far as the protocol for the weekly schedule, please review:
- Students will attend google meets for all classes.
- Students will still have homeroom from 7:30-7:40. Attendance will be taken in homeroom and all classes.
- Students are required to attend their regularly scheduled Band, Chorus, or Orchestra classes.
- Students in both cohorts will attend google meets.
Monday – cohort 1 follow Monday (A) schedule, cohort 2 follow Thursday schedule (C)
Tuesday – cohort 1 follow Tuesday (B) schedule, cohort 2 Friday schedule (D)
Wednesday – Regular Wednesday schedule
Thursday – cohort 1 follow Monday (A) schedule, cohort 2 follow Thursday (C)
Friday – cohort 1 follow Tuesday (B) schedule, cohort 2 follow Friday (D)

TRIMESTER 1 REPORT CARDS

HONOR ROLL AND HIGH HONOR ROLL – Trimester 1
Congratulations to students for their accomplishment of earning honor or high honor roll during trimester 1. Please see the attached lists. The criteria for honor roll is an 80 or above in all subjects and for high honor roll it is 90 or above in all subjects. Certificates were mailed to our full-remote students.
FLU SHOTS
All students are required to have a flu shot by February 28, 2021. Please send your child’s flu shot information to our school nurse: Janice Roberts, jroberts@billericak12.com
MATH PROBLEM OF THE WEEK

2021 IS HERE!
Now that 2021 is finally here, let’s see what we can do with this new number!
- If the perimeter of a particular square is 2021 inches, what is the area of the square, in square inches? Express your answer as a decimal to the nearest hundredth.
- What is the median of the first 2021 positive integers?
Send your answers to Mr. Garas – tgaras@billericak12.com – Show your work! Your answers will be put into a drawing for a dunkins card! (and the famous math certificate!)

TRANSITIONS
We are establishing a more structured timeframe for making student transitions between models of instruction. (hybrid to remote or remote to hybrid) Transitions will now take place on the Monday of the 1st week of each month. Any requests that are submitted prior to the 15th of the month will take place on the 1st of the following month. Please send requests to Mr. Garas, tgaras@billericak12.com

LIBRARY INFORMATION –Books are still available!
Check out library books from the Locke library! The process for requesting library books online has become even simpler! Using Destiny Discover in your BPS Quick Links, you no longer need to log into the library catalog. Please see Ms. Cabral's updated instruction video on the Locke library website: https://
Returning library books: Students who still have library books that were checked out last year should please return them to the main office. There will be a library book bin for you to return the books. Late slips will be going out for overdue books this week. Any books that are from elementary school can still be returned in the bin.
