Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students,
Welcome to December! I hope that you and your families enjoyed the Thanksgiving break. It is a great opportunity to get together with family and friends, enjoy some great food, and of course go shopping! As we enter the busiest and most hectic time of year, I wish you a safe, healthy holiday season and an opportunity to reflect on the positive moments of this past year. We return with a full 5 DAYS OF LEARNING this week! (maybe not, it looks a possible snow day on Monday) Let’s see what’s happening …
Monday, December 2nd is a “D” Day. If we don’t have school, Tuesday December 3rd is still a “A” day. Please plan accordingly for the week.

AFTER SCHOOL THIS WEEK
We will have HW club and late buses only on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week. Fall activities have been completed.
TURKEY TOSS – A HUGE SUCCESS!
A tremendous thank you to staff, students,  and families for donating to our Turkey Toss fundraiser. We raised $1975 and received 2300 food items to help local families this holiday season. The food items have been delivered to the Billerica food pantry. All homerooms met the challenge and we had a lot of fun down in the gym on Wednesday. Thanks to Ms. Wells, Ms. Higgins, and our student council students for organizing the event. We have pictures and video on our twitter feed.
TALENT SHOW
The Locke talent show will be this Thursday, December 5th at 6:00 PM. Tickets will be sold at the door. $7 for adults, $5 for children.
END OF TRIMESTER 1
The last day of trimester 1 is Monday, December 2nd. Report cards will be published on Wednesday, December 11th.
PARENT CONFERENCES
Parent conferences will be held on Thursday, December 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Conferences will be scheduled in 5 minute increments. Parents will receive an email later this week that will explain how to use the PTC wizard website to sign up for conferences.
MATH PROBLEM OF THE WEEK

COLD SEASON
Patients at a local hospital used 240 boxes of tissues in 3 days. There are 288 tissues in each box. How many tissues, on average, were used each minute?
Turn your answers in to the office. SHOW YOUR WORK. The correct answers will be put in a drawing for huge, tremendous prizes!

It was another unique year that presented many challenges to learning as we tried to return to a sense of normalcy. The educational partnership between home and school is what helps students to grow socially and emotionally. I wish you all a happy, healthy summer with many days of learning.
