Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students,
I hope you are enjoying a rainy Sunday. It’s a great day to read, get caught up on homework, and, of course, watch football! We had a great Halloween dance Friday night with some scary and creative costumes. We continue the haunted happenings this week with another 5 DAYS OF LEARNING! Let’s see what’s going on …

PICTURE MAKE-UPS/RE-TAKES
Picture make-up day is Wednesday, October 30th. If you are having the pictures redone, please have students bring back the original pictures.
HALLOWEEN
Due to having our dance last week and giving students the opportunity to wear costumes, we ask that students do not wear costumes on Thurday.
OPERATION HONOR OUR HEROES
We will be collecting items for our troops and honoring them throughout the month of November. Items can be turned in at the main lobby. Please see the attached letter regarding our efforts. If you have any questions, please contact Caroline Busnach at cbusnach@billericak12.com
ALICE SAFETY DRILL
Our ALICE safety drill has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 14th from 8:30 – 9:30. Parents will not have access to the building during the drill.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Student progress reports were published to the Aspen Portal on Tuesday, October 22nd. Parents, if you have not already done so, please sign the envelope and return indicating that you have seen the report.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
After school activities continue this week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  If you have any questions, please contact our secretary Mrs. Brewster. nbrewster@billericak12.com or 978-528-8650.
HOMEWORK CLUB
HW club will continue in the library every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the remainder of the year. Students do not need to sign up ahead of time for HW club. They will report to the library immediately after school. Students can attend as many days as the parent/student believes are necessary. Students are expected to stay for the full hour.
LATE BUSES
Late buses continue this week and will run on every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The buses usually arrive at the Locke at 3:10 PM. Please see the attached late bus stops. One of our buses does drop off at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club.

Attendance is an important part of overall student success. If your child is going to be absent, please call 978-528-8650 to report the absence. You can leave a voicemail at this number which goes directly to our secretary. You may also email our secretary, Ms. Brewster at nbrewster@billericak12.com
PTO CORNER
HALLOWEEN TRINKETS will be sold in the cafeteria during lunches on Monday October 28th. Most items are $1. 
LOCKE HOLIDAY TREE-We are now collecting items for our Holiday tree. Please see attachment for this year’s theme and items we are looking for. 
We have two open spots on the PTO: Secretary & Treasurer
We are also looking for help with the following programs:

It was another unique year that presented many challenges to learning as we tried to return to a sense of normalcy. To our Locke families, thank you for the support and commitment that you have given to our staff and your children this year. The educational partnership between home and school is what helps students to grow socially and emotionally. I wish you all a happy, healthy summer with many days of learning.
