Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students,
I hope you are enjoying another beautiful fall weekend after the tough weather last week. I would like to take another opportunity to thank our staff for being supportive and flexible during last week’s power outage. Also, thank you to our students who were great following directions and they all entered the building safely and calmly. Hopefully, the lights stay on this week. Of course, it will be another 5 DAYS OF LEARNING. Let’s see what’s happening …

ALICE SAFETY DRILL
We will be rescheduling our ALICE drill due to the power outage. As soon as it is scheduled, we will let staff and students know.
HALLOWEEN DANCE
We will be having a Halloween Dance at the Locke on Friday, October 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale this week in the cafeteria during lunch for $5 starting on Tuesday, October 22nd. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Student progress reports will be published to the Aspen Portal on Tuesday, October 22nd. Only core team teachers report out on progress grades. Students will receive signature envelopes on Tuesday during homeroom. Parents, please sign the envelope and return indicating that you have seen the report.
AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
After school activities continue this week on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  If you have any questions, please contact our secretary Mrs. Brewster. nbrewster@billericak12.com or 978-528-8650.
HOMEWORK CLUB
HW club will continue in the library every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the remainder of the year. Students do not need to sign up ahead of time for HW club. They will report to the library immediately after school. Students can attend as many days as the parent/student believes are necessary. Students are expected to stay for the full hour.
LATE BUSES
Late buses continue this week and will run on every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The buses usually arrive at the Locke at 3:10 PM. Please see the attached late bus stops. One of our buses does drop off at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club.

Turn your answers in to the office by Friday. The correct answers will be put in a drawing for huge, tremendous prizes!

ABSENCES
Attendance is an important part of overall student success. Please see the attached letters from the district attorney and our superintendent regarding student attendance. If your child is going to be absent, please call 978-528-8650 to report the absence. You can leave a voicemail at this number which goes directly to our secretary. You may also email our secretary, Ms. Brewster at nbrewster@billericak12.com
PTO CORNER
HALLOWEEN TRINKETS will be sold in the cafeteria during lunches (10:30-noon) from Wednesday October 23-Wednesday October 30. Most items are $1. If you are interested in coming in & helping to sell please contact the Locke PTO
LOCKE HOLIDAY TREE-We are now collecting items for our Holiday tree. Please see attachment for this year’s theme and items we are looking for.

It was another unique year that presented many challenges to learning as we tried to return to a sense of normalcy.
