Happy Easter! I hope you all had a great vacation and were able to get some time to recharge as we head toward the busiest time of the school year. We are ready to return with a full week, including MCAS testing, activities, sports, and of course 5 DAYS OF LEARNING … Have a great week!!

MCAS TESTING CONTINUES

MCAS testing continues this week with 6^th grade ELA on Wednesday and Thursday. We will begin make-ups for English this Friday and will continue next week. Please see the attached schedule for all of the testing dates moving forward. We are extremely pleased with the effort of our students on the assessment thus far and hope that all students continue to demonstrate their best work.

AFTER SCHOOL THIS WEEK

HW Club and late buses will continue on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.  

PE CLASSES THIS WEEK

During PE classes this week, students will be participating in our annual scoliosis screening.

STAFF BABY PHOTO CONTEST

For students that are participating in the staff baby contest, please turn in your answer sheet to Mrs. Parker in room 110 on Monday.

LITERARY MAGAZINE NEWS

Submissions for Literary Magazine Due by End of April

Any students interested in submitting work for Locke Middle School’s literary magazine should do so by the end of April. Submissions can be essays, poems, artwork, or any other creative work. All students are encouraged to submit. Please see the attached flyer for more information. We look forward to reading your work!

Just a reminder that the PTO Board will have three openings for the 2019 – 2020 school year. If you are interested, please come to our next PTO meeting on April 29^th (no May meeting) for more information.

Our next restaurant night is at Fuddrucker’s in Reading (at Jordan’s Furniture) on May 14 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. More information to follow.

Field Day is getting closer. Remember, not only is this the 8^thgraders final Field Day, but it’s the 7^th graders final Field Day as well. We have some great events lined up so please help us to make this year’s Field Day the best for your child! This year’s Field Day will be June 14^th. If you have ideas about how to make your child’s end-of-year event more enjoyable or would like to volunteer to help, please email billericalockepto@gmail.com or Facebook Message us.
