LIFE AT THE LOCKE … Issue #9 2018-2019

SPOOKY EDITION!!
Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students,
We had a very busy “5 Days of Learning” last week with classroom education, after-school activities, track meets, an ALICE drill, a fire drill, our first ever field hockey game, a great 8th trip to BMHS, wearing pink for breast cancer awareness, and it culminated in a “spirited” Halloween dance with our friends from the Marshall. We are back this week with another 5 Days of Learning on a little less sleep than usual. (if you are watching the World Series) Let’s see the haunted happenings …
Monday, October 29th is a “B” Day. Please plan accordingly for the week.

HALLOWEEN

DC CANDY FUNDRAISER
Details:  Hershey candy bars, 30 bars per box.  You purchase the box for $30, cash or check payable to the Locke Middle School.  Candy bars are $2 each, they are the larger size candy bars, so you end up making $30 profit per box.  You can use the $30 to help subsidize the cost of the trip. Students can see Mrs. Ternullo (8A) or Mr. Paton (8B) to pick up boxes of candy.  There will also be some candy available in the main office if parents want to swing by the school and pick up one or more boxes themselves.
Please contact Mrs. Tolleson, jtolleson@billericak12.com, with any questions.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Student progress reports were published to the Aspen Portal on Thursday, October 25th. Parents, please sign the envelope and return indicating that you have seen the report.
MATH PROBLEM OF THE WEEK
Last week’s answer: Each hour they raked 1350/4.5 = 300 ft2 of leaves.
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
Barbara, Becky, and Beth dressed up as Spongebob characters for Halloween. One was SpongeBob. One was Patrick. One was Mr. Squidward. Becky is not Patrick and she went trick-or-treating with SpongeBob. Beth and Patrick are sisters. Who is SpongeBob?
