Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students,
It was another busy, hectic, exciting 5 days of learning at the Locke this past week. The HW club got started, late buses started moving, we blacked-out bullying, and took the pledge, What a great week!! We enter October with another busy week ahead and 5 days of learning! Let’s see what’s happening …
Monday, October 1st is a “C” Day. Please plan accordingly for the week.

HALF DAY -- FRIDAY
On Friday, October 5th we are having a half day schedule. Lunch will not be served and students will be dismissed at 10:40 AM (it may be slightly delayed due to buses)

AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
After school activities begin this week.  Students received a slip last week with the activity they are enrolled in. If you have any questions, please contact our secretary Mrs. Battcock. pbattcock@billericak12.com or 978-528-8650.
HOMEWORK CLUB
HW club started last week. It will be in the library every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students do not need to sign up ahead of time for HW club. They will report to the library immediately after school. Students can attend as many days as the parent/student believes are necessary. Students are expected to stay for the full hour.
LATE BUSES
Late bus runs also began last week and will run on every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The buses usually arrive at the Locke at 3:10PM. Please see the attached for the late bus stops. One of our buses does drop off at the Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
MATH PROBLEM OF THE WEEK

Hot Air Balloons
Fall is a beautiful time of year to take a hot air balloon ride! Ms. Cap’s hot air balloon is a sphere of diameter 100 feet. How many cubic feet of air will Ms. Cap’s hot air balloon hold when completely filled? Express your answer as a decimal to the nearest tenth. (Hint: we are looking for volume)

Final day to save money until December 2019! The KidStuff Coupon book sale ends today. Please let us know ASAP if you’re interested in purchasing one.
The school pickup deadline for Yankee Candle has been extended! You may now submit orders to your child’s homeroom teacher until October 12. Orders should arrive 2 to 4 weeks later. The PTO will announce when your purchases are ready to be picked up at the school. Please keep in mind you can order online until January 9, 2019, at www.yankeecandlefundraising.com, group 999972037. Online orders are shipped directly to your home.
