SPOOKY EDITION !!
Dear Parents/Guardians, Staff, and Students,

THE WEEK IN REVIEW
We had a busy, hectic week of learning and fun at the Locke. To review (in no particular order): Our fundraiser is off to a great start, 8thgraders had an engaging trip to BMHS, the talent show was awesome, the cupcake challenge was taken in our after school program, students and staff wore all pink for breast-cancer awareness day, our teachers attended the Masscue technology conference, and we ended the week with a high-spirited (pun intended) Halloween Dance with 350 Locke and Marshall students. Wow, we are tired!
It looks like another busy week ahead with 5 DAYS OF LEARNING !!

Monday, October 30th is a “C” Day.  Please plan accordingly for the week.

MATH PROBLEM OF THE WEEK
Last Weeks’ Answer: 92 miles from the Wilson’s home to the park
Little Piggy Banks(Two Parts)
A. When Lucas dumped the coins out of his piggy bank, he noticed that there were only nickels and dimes, and the number of nickels was twice the number of dimes. If there were 50 nickels, what was the total value of the coins Lucas dumped out of his piggy bank?
B. When Franco dumped the coins out of his piggy bank, he noticed that there were only nickels and quarters, and the number of quarters was six more than half the number of nickels. If the total value of the coins Franco and Lucas dumped out of each piggy bank was the same, how many coins did Franco dump out of his piggy bank?
Turn in answers to the main office. Prizes coming soon!
